Guidelines for Admission to the Program

All individuals who want to be considered for admissions to the Respiratory Care program must:

  1. Be eligible for regular college admissions status. Individuals enrolled or admitted on academic probation are not eligible to be candidates to the Respiratory Care program until the academic probation has been cleared.
  2. Submit results of the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) if less than 12 credits of college work have been completed. The college courses must be numbered 100 or higher excluding remedial courses.
  3. Re-submit an official transcript of all post-secondary education attempted taken outside the KCTCS college system. Transcripts must be submitted for each college or university previously attended not in the KCTCS system.
  4. Submit statement of observation in the field of Respiratory Care.
  5. Submit documentation of attendance at a pre-admission conference.

  • All students must create a Selective Admissions System (SAS) account. If any of your contact information changes you must make changes in your SAS account
  • All students must turn in a completed Admissions Packet in which all of the required documentation is placed in one envelope.
  • Even if you have applied to the program before we will need all of the required documents to be resubmitted to the Office of Admissions.
  • Academic Bankruptcy/Grade Point Average Recalculation Policy
  • It is advised to make copies of all documentation submitted and keep in a folder for future reference.
