*Returning students are those students who were enrolled in a KCTCS college in either the fall 2010 or spring 2011 semester (or both) as provided in the KCTCS Guaranteed Tuition Program approved by the KCTCS Board of Regents June 17, 2010.

**Contiguous counties are those which border Kentucky. Tuition is charged for each credit hour enrolled.

Tuition and fees are determined by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System Board of Regents. For payment deadlines, refer to the college academic calendar.

Guaranteed Tuition for Returning Students

Returning students at each of the 16 KCTCS colleges will not be subject to a tuition increase for the 2011-12 academic year, if they enrolled during the fall 2010 or spring 2011 semesters. Eligible students will receive a tuition rate of $130 per credit hour, the same rate they paid during the 2010-11 academic year.

The eligibility guidelines for the guaranteed tuition program are:

  • The guaranteed tuition rate is currently only valid for the 2011-12 academic year.
  • Consecutive term enrollment is not required.
  • Students enrolled only in summer 2011 classes are not eligible.
  • The guaranteed tuition rate is valid for the summer 2012 term.
  • High school dual credit students enrolled in either fall 2010 or spring 2011 courses are eligible.
  • Tuition is guaranteed for in-state, out-of-state, contiguous counties and KCTCS Online students.

Tuition Payment Deadlines

Spring 2012 - Second 8-Week Session

March 9, 2012 * Last day to pay tuition charges for students that registered between March 5 and March 9, 2012.

*NOTE: BCTC does not offer a Tuition Payment Plan during the 2012 Spring Semester - Second 8-Week Session.

Spring 2012 - First 8-Week Session

December 2, 2011 Last day to pay tuition charges for students who registered prior to November 12, 2011
January 6, 2012 * Last day to pay tuition charges for students who registered from November 12, 2011 thru January 6, 2012
January 8, 2012 Class Work Begins
January 13, 2012 Last day to sign up for the Tuition Payment Plan for 2012 Spring Semester
January 13, 2012 Last day to drop a course and receive 100% refund
February 7, 2012 Last day for students to withdraw from a course and receive 50% tuition refund

*NOTE: After January 6, 2012 All Past Due Accounts Will Be Subject To a $75.00 Late Payment Charge.

Additional Charges Information

  • A $25.00 security charge will be assessed each semester.
  • A $75.00 late charge will be assessed for when tuition is paid after the deadlines.
  • A $75.00 charge will be assessed for reinstatement of classes for students who were canceled for non-payment.
  • A $20.00 charge per year will be collected from those students enrolled in programs that require professional liability insurance.
  • A $25.00 charge will be assessed for each check returned due to insufficient funds.
  • Delinquent accounts will be sent to the Kentucky Department of Revenue, which will charge additional charges.

UK Housing Information:

BCTC Students living in University of Kentucky Housing will be required to pay all of UK's mandatory charges.

Regulations for Tuition and Other Charges

Students who have not fully paid financial obligations to BCTC or to any division or organization of BCTC will not be permitted to register for future credit or non-credit offerings, receive transcripts, transfer credits to another institution, or graduate.

BCTC will pursue collection of all outstanding accounts pursuant to its business procedures.

Accounts that remain delinquent may be referred to outside agencies for collection and are subject to additional fees and costs.

BCTC makes every effort to include relevant, timely, and accurate information in its publications. However, BCTC reserves the right to make changes in its calendar, admissions policies, expenses, programs, curricula, course descriptions, or any other matters addressed or not addressed in this publication. Prospective students and enrolled students should check with the college's Offices of Admissions, Registrar, and/or Student Billing to learn of any such changes.

All delinquencies must be paid by money order, cashier's check, or cash in the Student Billing Office.
