Scholarship Opportunities

Bluegrass Community & Technical College is dedicated to providing a diverse selection of scholarships to support the financial needs of our students. While criteria is varied with each scholarship, most are based on financial need. Some scholarships also emphasize strong academic need and/or special interests. Funding for BCTC scholarships come from the state government, individuals, businesses and organizations. A few options:

• KCTCS Presidential Scholarship
  The Presidential Scholarship goes to students in each of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) schools who have outstanding academic performance and unmet financial need.
• KCTCS John T. Smith Scholarship
  This fund supports minority students at KCTCS who maintain a 2.5 GPA, plan to attend a four-year institution, and have unmet financial need.
• KCTCS Commonwealth Scholarship
  Kentucky residents who are valedictorians, salutatorians, or graduates of the upper 25 percent of their high school graduating class are eligible for this award.
• Donor Scholarships
  There are many generous donors who provide scholarships to BCTC students. Scholarships may be based on financial need, academic merit, or program of study.
• Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship (KEES)
  This state program awards scholarship to Kentucky students who earn a 2.5 GPA or higher in high school. For more information visit the KHEAA website.

How to Apply

The only way to receive a scholarship is to apply for one! To apply for a scholarship at BCTC you need to complete a Scholarship Application and return it to the Financial Aid Office.
