Transition to CBTS Cisco Unity Voicemail

Please be aware of a recent announcement by KCTCS personnel regarding system wide voice mail service changes.

To lessen the potential for compatibility issues associated with the upcoming transition to Microsoft Office 365 email services, KCTCS has opted to move all voice mail services from Unified Messaging to the Unity voice mail platform. You may recall Unity was the original voice mail system in use when the college moved to CBTS Voice Over IP services in 2004.

The move is scheduled for Friday, May 10th at 4:00 pm.

After the move to Unity voice mail:

  • You will need to set up a new Personal Identification Number (PIN) and voicemail greeting.
  • You will continue to receive voicemail notifications in your email inbox but there will be no attempted translation of voice mail to email format.
  • You will no longer be able to reply to voicemail from your email account
  • Any existing voicemail saved in your email account will be remain there until you opt to delete it

While the transition is anticipated to be a relatively simple process, end user training will be offered on an as needed basis in the Technology Resource Center (TRC).

Please contact Connie Rine at 246-4608 or 54608 for assistance.

Thank you for your continued patience as we work to improve BCTC technology services.
