KCTCS College to Award 14,198 Credentials at Spring Graduation

VERSAILLES, Ky. (May 6, 2013) – The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) will honor 9,617 candidates, receiving 14,198 credentials, for graduation this spring in 16 college ceremonies across the state.

In addition to the spring graduates, many KCTCS college commencement exercises will also recognize students who have graduated since the May 2012 commencement. These students total 1,926 in summer 2012, and 8,522 in fall 2012 ceremonies.

A list of upcoming college ceremonies including time, place and commencement speakers follows.

2013 Commencement Ceremonies:

Ashland Community and Technical College
Saturday, May 11; 10 a.m.
Paramount Arts Center, 1300 Winchester Ave., Ashland
Commencement speaker: ACTC President/CEO Kay Adkins. KCTCS President
Michael B. McCall, will conduct the inauguration ceremony. Cassandra
Cantrell will be the graduating student speaker.
The ceremony is open to the public. No tickets are required.

Big Sandy Community and Technical College
Saturday, May 11; 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
2 p.m. - Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science graduates, speaker will be Speaker of the Kentucky House of Representatives Greg Stumbo.
10 a.m. – pinning and graduation ceremony (dental hygiene/nursing excellence awards), speaker will be Michelle Canterbury.
Mountain Arts Center, 50 Hal Rogers Drive, Prestonsburg
The ceremony is open to the public. No tickets are required.

Bluegrass Community and Technical College
Sunday, May 12; 5 p.m.
Kentucky Horse Park Alltech Arena, 4089 Ironworks Pike, Lexington
Commencement speaker: Kenneth “Kenny” “Sky” Walker, radio host

Elizabethtown Community and Technical College
Monday, May 13; 7 p.m.
