The end of our first year as Dental Hygiene students is approaching and we have all grown and learned so much in this short period of time. Remember when you didn't know your mesials from your distals or molars from canines and you thought "gums" was a sufficient term for the "gingiva". We've come a long way to correctly use all those $30 words. We are even talented enough to do everything backwards in a mirror. It's been enlightening, busy, stressful, challenging, scary, entertaining and fun. We're still learning and we're not perfect yet, but we'll get there. Dental Hygiene is a FABULOUS profession and I think it's great that we are already planning ways to assist the new students coming in as the Class of 2009.
I am extremely proud to be a part of this group of beautiful, intelligent, caring, humble, and obsessive compulsive women. I can see lifetime friendships and competent hygienist developing. I have no doubt that the Class of 2008 will leave it's mark on BCTC and be the best class ever! We put the BC in BCTC. I know we are all looking forward to the summer break and I hope you enjoy every minute of it. We all deserve it for a job well done. Get some rest and relax your hands, back and neck. Get ready because next semester we have to see 2 patients PER DAY. YIKES.
