Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging - Technology (NMMIT) Program

Enrollment in the NMMIT Program may be limited due to the availability of facilities, faculty, and/or resources. Please note the prerequisites for each of the required courses especially the math and science courses.

First Year

First Summer Term (Total Credits = 7)

• ENG 101 Writing I*
  • Credits: 3
  • Prerequisite: Appropriate writing placement score
• BIO 137 Human Anatomy & Physiology I*
  • Credits: 4
  • Prerequisite: Reading, English and Math assessment scores above the KCTCS developmental placement level or successful completion of the prescribed developmental course(s)

Second Summer Term (Total Credits = 7)

• MA 109/MT 150 College Algebra*
  • Credits: 3
  • Prerequisite: Two years of high school algebra and Math ACTE score of 19 or above, or MA 108R, or math placement test
• BIO 139 Human Anatomy & Physiology II
  • Credits: 4
  • Prerequisite: BIO 137

Fall Semester (Total Credits = 14)

“Documentation of computer literacy as defined by KCTCS is required prior to enrolling in the first NMI course.” (KCTCS Catalog 2011-2012)

• CHE 140 Introductory General Chemistry
  • Credits: 3
  • Prerequisite: Math ACTE of 19 or above, MA 108R, MT 120, MT 122 with a grade of C or better
• PHY 172 Physics for the Health Sciences
  • Credits: 2
  • Prerequisite: MA 108R.
• ENG 102 Writing II*

All NMI and required Science / Math courses must be completed with a grade of C or better to demonstrate successful progression and retention in the program.

• RDL or IMG 250 Computed Tomography Physics and Instrumentation (3 cr hr) - (Spring semester only)
• RDL or IMG 255 Magnetic Resonance Physics and Instrumentation (3 cr hr) - (Fall semester only)
• RDL or IMG 265 Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technology (3 cr hr) - (Spring semester only)
