Add/Drop a Class / Withdraw

Adding a Class

To add an online class, use your Student Self-Service Account. You may use the Online Course Enrollment Request form if you are not able to enroll using Student Self-Service.

Dropping a Class / Withdrawing

If you need to drop a course or withdraw completely from the college, it is your responsibility to do so via an official transaction with the Records Office. Instructors cannot make the withdrawal transaction on your behalf. Failure to officially withdraw from Bluegrass Community and Technical College will result in academic difficulties for students. The student will be held responsible for any and all financial delinquencies which result from failure to complete the withdrawal process.

Students may drop an online class before the semester begins and during the first week of classes by using their PeopleSoft Student Account.

For BCTC (Bluegrass) students:

Students may withdraw from an online class before midterm by sending an email from their KCTCS account that includes a typed statement of request to withdraw, name, student ID #, and the course, section number and course ID to BL_distancelearningwithdraw@kctcs.edu.

To withdraw from an online class after midterm, students must receive permission from their instructor. The instructors must send a permission email from their KCTCS account to BL_distancelearningwithdraw@kctcs.edu. Students must also send an email from their KCTCS account that includes a typed statement of request to withdraw, name, student ID #, and course information to BL_distancelearningwithdraw@kctcs.edu. The withdraw request will be processed when BOTH emails have been received. Both emails must be received before the close of business on the Last Day of Classes and prior to the first day of all Final Exams.

After the transaction is completed, you will receive email confirmation from the Student Records Office. Please keep this the email as a record of withdrawing from the course.

For non-Bluegrass students from another KCTCS Home Campus:

Students may withdraw from an online class before midterm by sending an email with their name, student ID #, and course information to their Home Campus Registrar's Office.

To withdraw from an online class after midterm, students must receive permission from their instructor. Students must forward that permission to their Home Campus Registrar's Office along with their name, student ID #, and course information.
