Web and Digital Locker

Digital Locker and Personal Web Space

All students, faculty, and staff will have access to disk space on a central district-wide server. With this space, you can create your own Web site and store files.

Please note: Usernames are case sensitive and are all lowercase.

Server Migration

We have migrated to a new server platform.

If you had an account on the old system:

  • All of your files will still be in your account when you log in.
  • To log in, use your KCTCS Username and KCTCS Password.
(Same username and password used to check your e-mail.)

If you did not have an account on the old system:

  • An account has already been created for you.
  • To log in, use your KCTCS Username and KCTCS Password.
(Same username and password used to check your e-mail.)

Changes to the system include:

  1. We are now running SFTP (SSH FTP) on the system and not the standard FTP (File Transfer Protocol. SFTP is based on the SSH (Secure Shell) protocol that some users use to log into the server to issue commands. It encrypts all traffic (including the file transfer itself) so it is even more secure than the FTP over SSL that we had before. It also "plays nicely" with firewalls. We recommend you use FileZilla to access the SFTP service on District. See our "How to" on SFTP.
  2. We have deployed a new Locker interface. You may log into the new Locker system by going to the following URL in your browser:

    http://district.bluegrass.kctcs.edu/usermin/

Again, log on with your KCTCS username and password. There are many different modules that can do various user tasks, not least of which is a file manager (similar to the previous Web Locker, but better).
