BCTC’s Dental Hygiene Program held an open house on September 29 to celebrate the completion of a year long renovation and upgrade. The open house was a great success, with over 100 faculty, staff, students, alumni, and donors present to celebrate the new face of the Dental Hygiene Clinic. BCTC President Dr. Augusta A. Julian, and Dental Hygiene Program Coordinator Janella Spencer, thanked guests for their contributions to the project, which began with a federal grant for new equipment. The College then took up the cause, funding the building renovation. A mailer to alumni and the dental community generated a great deal of support, raising more than $13,000 in donations for the purchase of additional state-of-the-art equipment. With these changes, the clinic is much better-equipped to train its students and to serve the community’s dental needs.
