Office of Diversity Outreach Services


Welcome to the Diversity Outreach Services. The mission of Diversity Outreach Services, a component of the Office of Multiculturalism and Inclusion, is to provide outreach activities and services to enhance diversity and community within Bluegrass Community and Technical College. To do this, the coordinator of Diversity Outreach Services is responsible for addressing the following areas:

Community Connections

  • Partake in outreach/recruitment activities –college, career and health fairs, community groups and activities and related events.
  • Deliver educational presentations/workshops within the schools and community 
  • Make referrals to college and community resources
  • Mentor middle/high school students to promote higher education opportunities
  • Partner with community and businesses in shared interest activities. 
  • Serve as a Liaison for God’s Food Pantry for BCTC students

Academic /Career/Life Skills Advisement

  • Provide students with academic, career and/or life skills advisement, mentoring and referrals to promote student success and retention
  • Referral for the Kentucky Minority Educator Recruitment and Retention Scholarship (MERR)

Student LifeSaver Links

  • Provide students with helpful informational links to support well informed, healthy well rounded lifestyles.

Intramural Sports

  • Administer college’s Intramural Sports (soccer, flag football and basketball) in response to the educational, recreational, social and general well-being of students 

Student Employment and Work Experience

  • Offer employment, volunteer and internship opportunities during the fall, spring and summer
