Bicycle Commuting

Bike racks are conveniently located at each BCTC location. As a security measure, Cooper campus bicyclists are encouraged (though not required) to register their bikes with UK’s Parking and Transportation Services. Information on free bicycle registration can be found here.

Thanks to funding from the University of Kentucky’s Bicycle Advisory Committee, BCTC’s Cooper campus also has a public bicycle repair station. Available around the clock at no cost to users, the station is located on the west side of the Oswald Building, near the E Lot bike racks. It includes a repair rack, step-by-step instructions for repairing flat tires, and the following tools:

  • Phillips and flat head screwdrivers
  • 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen wrenches
  • Headset wrench
  • 8, 9 , 10 and 11mm box wrenches
  • Pre-glued tube patches
  • Tire levers
  • Manual air pump with psi gauge
