Online Tutoring

The Tutoring Center at Bluegrass Community and Technical College is dedicated to providing various types of tutoring to assist all of our students. One of those tutoring options is online tutoring. Currently, students can receive online tutoring using one of the following methods:


Email a Tutor for Assistance

Mathematics:

The Mathematics & Statistics Division in partnership with the Tutoring Center is offering an asynchronous online tutoring program available to students who have a question(s) or need help with a concept(s), but are not able to stop by the Tutoring enter during normal operating hours. As with on-campus tutoring, e-Tutoring is completely free of charge and available to all currently enrolled students.

Disclaimer: The mission of the Mathematics & Statistics Tutorial Service, whether online or in person, is to educate, empower, and inspire students to become independent and successful lifelong learners. Our tutors will help a student understand a concept or develop problem-solving skills. However, tutors will not provide final solutions to assigned problems for students but will lead them through a solutions process.

For Math e-Tutoring, email one math problem per submission:

e-Tutors usually respond to inquiries via email within 24 hours Monday thru Thursday (48-72 hours Friday thru Sunday).  Closed for Academic Holidays and Institutional Closing.

Writing Center:

For Writing e-Tutoring, email one writing submission per submission:

The e-Tutor will return writing suggestions within 24 hours.

Brainfuse Tutoring

Students can receive 24/7 tutoring assistance for various subject areas through Brainfuse. Students have access to free tutoring and writing submissions. Brainfuse is located within student Blackboard courses. Use the links and information below to get started today!

Students have access to the following FREE tutoring options through Brainfuse:

  • 20 hours of free online tutoring each month
  • 10 free writing submissions each month

Get Started with Brainfuse...

  1. Log into your Blackboard account using your KCTCS username and password.

  2. In the Course List, click on the link for the course that you would like tutoring assistance for.
  3. Click on Tools in the navigation menu on the left side of the page.
  4. Click on Brainfuse HelpNow and then on the Brainfuse button.  You should be directed to the following page:

  5. Use any of the tutoring options, such as Live Help, Writing Lab, or 24/7 Center, to receive tutoring assistance 24/7.
