What's New?

Larger 1GB Mailbox

Your mailbox now has a maximum size of 1GB. You will begin receiving warnings that your mailbox is too large if it reaches 900MB. At 950MB, you will no longer be able to send email. Sending and receiving will no longer function if you allow your mailbox to reach 1GB.

Mobile Device Reconfiguration

If you have previously configured your mobile device to synchronize a KCTCS.edu mailbox, you may need to reconfigure that device. Instructions are located in the FAQs below.

Easier Email Forwarding

Checking your KCTCS email has never been easier!  With your upgraded email account you can forward your KCTCS email to any of your personal accounts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I change my password?

Your password should be changed via KCTCS User Account Center.  You will need to know your student id number to use the User Account Center.  Alternatively, logging into a campus computer, pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and selecting "Change Password" will allow a password change.

How do I configure email on my mobile device?

Mobile device configuration will vary depending on the device. Android and iPhone general instructions are listed below.  For more detailed instructions on these (and other devices), visit the Microsoft Mobile Phone Setup Wizard.

General Android Setup

  1. Navigate to Account Settings, and select Add Account
  2. Choose Microsoft Exchange Activesync
  3. Enter your email address and password
  4. If prompted to accept the Activation Agreement, select Yes
  5. When prompted to enter Domain, scroll to the bottom and select Manual Setup
  6. Enter Outlook.com in the Exchange server field
  7. If prompted that "Outlook.com must be able to remotely control security features", select Yes
  8. Set any account options required
  9. Name your account
  10. If prompted to "Update Security Settings", click Activate

General iPhone Setup

  1. From Settings, select Mail Contacts Calendar
  2. Select Add Account
  3. Select Microsoft Exchange as the account type
  4. Enter your email address in both the Email Address and Username fields
  5. Enter your password in the Password field
  6. If prompted that settings could not be determined, click Continue
  7. If asked for server name, enter m.outlook.com
  8. Save the configuration

What is the direct link to access my email?

The Outlook Web App for your KCTCS email can be accessed by browsing to https://outlook.com/kctcs.edu.

How do I configure automatic email forwarding?

  1. Log into your KCTCS email account
  2. Select Options in the top right corner
  3. Select See All Options
  4. Select Forward your Email from the shortcuts menu on the right-hand side
  5. Select New
  6. Enter the email address and password to the email account you wish to have all of your KCTCS emails forwarded to, then click Next
  7. Click Finish

How does the email experience change if I am also employed by the college?

If you are an employee of any type (full-time, temporary, Workstudy, etc.), you will access email using the Faculty/Staff process of navigating to https://webmail.kctcs.edu and logging in with your username and password.

Upon termination of your employment, your email will remain at https://webmail.kctcs.edu for a period of 60 days.  If, after 60 days, you have not been rehired, you will need to access your email using https://outlook.com/kctcs.edu.

As a new student, when am I able to begin accessing my email?

Email for new students will become available within 48 hours after registering for your first class.

How long will my email be available after leaving college?

Students who are enrolled in a current or future term have access to Email and Student Self-Service and continue to have access through the end of the last term in the next calendar year after their enrollment. That is, a student who enrolls in a term anytime this year will continue to have access to Email and Student Self-Service through the end of Fall term next year.

This also applies to recent Graduates. That is, a student who enrolls in and graduates in a term anytime this year will continue to have access to Email and Student Self-Service through the end of Fall term next year.
