Catch Me If You Can: A Crime Scene Investigation to be Held at Newtown Campus

Ever wonder what it takes to solve a crime? Visitors can get a firsthand experience at forensic science during Catch Me If You Can: A Crime Scene Investigation sponsored by Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) and the Battelle Foundation. The event is from 10:00 a.m. - Noon, Saturday, July 19 at BCTC’s Newtown Campus at 500 Newtown Pike.

The event will start off at a replicated crime scene where visitors can practice proper evidence collection techniques. Then it’s off to the laboratory to analyze fingerprints, blood type, fibers, mineral and soil samples, learn about ink chromatography, and replicate shoe impressions with hands-on activities.

This is the second of four free science outreach programs planned at the Newtown Campus. For more information, contact Stephanie Stoelb at (859) 246-6447, or
