KCTCS Fringe Benefits Rates

KCTCS offers a comprehensive benefit package to its faculty and staff members.  The package consists of core benefits such as health insurance, life/disability insurance, and retirement options.  To simplify budgeting and allocation processes, KCTCS has developed fringe benefits rates which are approved by KCTCS’ federal cognizant agency, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).  These rates are used to budget and allocate costs to all KCTCS salary and wages.   

Employee benefit plans included in the approved rates are:

  • Medical Health Insurance
  • KCTCS $50 Benefit (Health Supplemental for waived & single plans
  • Life Insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • Social Security and Medicare taxes (FICA
  • Retirement Contribution Plan
  • Workers’ Compensation
  • Long-Term Disability Insurance
  • Unemployment Compensation
  • Employee Education Program – Tuition Waiver Program (Employees only

KCTCS’ federally approved fringe benefit rates for FY2014 - FY2017 are as follows:

  • 46.1% for Regular Employees FY2014
  • 38.6% for Regular Employees FY2015
  • 40.6% for Regular Employees FY2016 & FY2017 
  • 8.62% for Temporary Employees FY2014 - FY2017
  • 1.0% for Student Employees FY2014 - FY2017
