The Kentucky Approving Agency for Veterans Education has a mission to afford veterans and other eligible persons the opportunity to improve their quality of life and employability through the use of quality education and training programs approved for use with their GI Bill Education Benefits.
The Kentucky Approving Agency for Veterans Education grew out of the GI Bill of Rights. Title 38, U.S. Code, Chapter 36, and Administration of Education Benefits, which authorized the establishment of State Approving Agencies.
Under federal law, the State Approving Agency is responsible for determining what programs may be approved for the use of VA education benefits for those individuals under Chapter 30, 32, and 35, Title 38, U.S. Code and Chapter 1606, Title 10, U.S. Code. This agency monitors program quality and the veteran's progress in the program, and serves as a liaison between participants and the Department of Veteran Affairs.
