Bicycle Commuting

Bike racks are conveniently located at each BCTC location. As a security measure, Cooper campus bicyclists are encouraged (though not required) to register their bikes with UK s Parking and Transportation Services. Information on free bicycle registration can be found here.

Thanks to funding from the University of Kentucky s Bicycle Advisory Committee, BCTC s Cooper campus also has a public bicycle repair station. Available around the clock at no cost to users, the station is located on the west side of the Oswald Building, near the E Lot bike racks. It includes a repair rack, step-by-step instructions for repairing flat tires, and the following tools:

  • Phillips and flat head screwdrivers
  • 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen wrenches
  • Headset wrench
  • 8, 9 , 10 and 11mm box wrenches
  • Pre-glued tube patches
  • Tire levers
  • Manual air pump with psi gauge
