Value Rubrics

Developed by the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U), the VALUE (Valid Assessment of Learning In Undergraduate Education) were developed for campus-based assessment as part of the Liberal Education and America's Promise (LEAP) initiative. "VALUE rubrics provide needed tools to assess students' own authentic work, produced across students' diverse learning pathways, fields of study and institutions to determine whether and how well students ar meeting graduation level achievement in learning outcomes that both employers and faculty consider essential" (

BCTC Faculty may want to consult VALUE rubrics for assessing student work or as a starting point for articulating student performance goals in selected areas. Downloadable pdf copies of each rubric is are below.
