College Readiness Prep

BCTC and Transitional Learning

Transitional courses give students the background to succeed in college. That’s why they’re offered across Kentucky. At BCTC students must have certain scores on the ACT or on the COMPASS placement test before beginning most college level courses.

The College Readiness Prep program offers free training to prepare students to take the COMPASS or a similar test. This may allow them to by-pass several semesters of college courses. It saves you time and money!

Face-to-Face Support

BCTC offers free support to transitional students on the Newtown Campus. In a self-paced environment, reading, writing and math instructors provide training for students.
