Vegucation Garden
Initiated in 2011, VegUcation Garden is an 8-foot-by-16-foot raised bed garden at
the Winchester campus. The garden provides opportunities to grow vegetables for community
groups and for students, faculty and staff to learn about sustainable gardening. Currently
the children at the BCTC Winchester-Clark County Campus on-site daycare, Bluegrass
Children s Academy, are planting tomatoes, watermelons, and peppers which they see
plant, tend, and then harvest. The food is incorporated into the on-site nutrition
program for a full seed to table learning program.
