Anita Sanchez

Biography: Counselor, Anita Sanchez, is a Kentucky native whose life has lent itself to helping others. Anita received her BSW from Lincoln Memorial University, and her M.Ed. from Lindsey Wilson College; School of Professional Counseling.

Prior to becoming a counselor at BCTC, Anita served as a temporary Project RISE Coordinator. Anita’s professional experience includes case management and counseling services in foster care, independent living, behavioral supports, spouse abuse, domestic violence, child protective services, welfare-to-work, supported employment, and academia. Anita is also a certified Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention trainer.

Anita has always had a passion for helping others to become the best versions of themselves. Anita’s personal and professional experiences have shaped her into a well-versed counselor. Understanding that sometimes people lack the skills, mindset, attitude, and supports to deal with, and overcome many of life’s obstacles alone Anita looks forward to helping BCTC students as they strive to attain and achieve their educational goals.
