Note the pale depressed center and lack of nucleus of the erythrocytes. Platelets are the small purple fragments. These cells are also visible in all of the following slides.
Nucleus has 2-5 distinct lobes; Cytoplasm has pink granules.
Nucleus is bilobed; Cytoplasm has bright red granules.
Nucleus is bilobed; Cytoplasm has purplish-blue granules.
Nucleus is kidney-shaped; Cytoplasm lacks granules.
Nucleus is very large and spherical or slightly indented; Cytoplasm is limited to a thin rim around nucleus.
