TRACY KNOWLES, PROFESSOR
Tracy received a B.A. in chemistry from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga
in 1992 and an M.S. in Environmental Science from Indiana University at Bloomington
in 1998. She worked as an environmental analytical chemist at Oak Ridge National Lab.
She has also taught and worked at the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental
Affairs.
Tracy also teaches Chemistry and heads the BCTC BalloonSat team. The BalloonSat team launches balloons into the stratosphere to collect atmospheric data.

Wes Morris, Staff Instructor
Wes completed an A.S. degree and earned degrees in Environmental Science Technology
and Biotechnology at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. During his time at
BCTC, Wes worked as an intern for the U.S. Department of Energy at Argonne National
Laboratory, where he worked on developing water use projections for the Upper Mississippi
River Basin. He then went on to earn his B.S. in Natural Resources and Environmental
Science and Ph.D. in Integrated Plant and Soil Sciences from the University of Kentucky,
where he studied the rhizosphere of nickel hyperaccumulating plants. Wes joined BCTC
as Staff Instructor for the Chemistry and Environmental Science Technology Programs
in 2019.
