Incoming Student Information

Dear Prospective Practical Nursing Student,

Congratulations! We are pleased to inform you of your tentative admission into the Fall 2018 Practical Nursing program at the Danville or Leestown campus. This demonstrates an outstanding level of achievement for which you are to be commended.

In addition to accepting your spot in the program on your SAS account, all Practical Nursing (PN) applicants must attend a mandatory orientation and registration meeting at the campus where they will be attending. The mandatory orientation & registration meetings will be held on, Tuesday, May 8 th at 11:00 a.m. for Leestown applicants the meeting will take place on the Leestown campus in room A-208 and for Danville applicants it will take place on the Danville campus in room 118. If you are unable to attend the orientation, please contact Ms. Grigsby or Ms. Greenlese prior to the May 8th date, for the makeup date. If you do not attend the meeting on your campus, it will be assumed that you have decided to fulfill your career goals elsewhere and your name will be removed from the list of accepted applicants. Attendance confirms your commitment and intent to enroll in the program. Your admission is contingent upon available resources, faculty and facilities by the first day of classes as well as your completion of all requirements for general college admission. Your admission is also contingent upon successful completion of the following program prerequisites prior to the first day of classes (August 13, 2018):

  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for the health care provider,
  • Meeting the digital literacy requirement as defined by KCTCS,
  • Active status on the Kentucky Medicaid Nurse Aide Registry or successful completion of a Medicaid Nurse Aide (MNA) or Nursing Assistant Skills I (NAA100) or an equivalent course within the past three years.

These requirements must be completed prior to the first day of the semester and proof of successful completion must be provided prior to or during the first week of the semester. Questions about equivalent courses should be directed to your Practical Nursing program advisor.
