ART 100 Introduction to Art (3 hrs. Lecture Class)

ART 100 provides a basic overview of the study, language, history and cultural relevance of visual art and is designed primarily for non-art majors. Utilizes visually-enhanced lectures and may include optional introductory studio experiences. (This course fulfills General Education requirements.)

ART 105 Ancient Through Medieval Art History (3 hrs. Lecture Class)

ART 105 surveys the historical development of art and architecture with primary emphasis on cultures of Egypt, Western Asia, Greece, Rome and Medieval Europe. Pre-requisite: English and Reading Assessment exam scores above the developmental placement level or the successful completion of prescribed developmental course(s). (This course fulfills General Education requirements for Humanities.)

ART 106 Renaissance Through Modern Art History (3 hrs. Lecture Class)

ART 106 surveys the historical development of Western art and architecture from the 14th Century through the present. Pre-requisite: English and Reading assessment exam scores above the developmental placement level or the successful completion of prescribed developmental course(s). It fulfills 3 credit hours under the General Education requirement for Humanities.

ART 110 Drawing I (3 hrs. Lecture/Lab)

ART 110 is an introduction to basic drawing skills and concepts. Projects in line, value, space and composition are among the topics that will be explored in a variety of media.

ART 204 Modern Art History (3 hrs. Lecture Class)

ART 204 examines the visual arts from the 18th through the 20th centuries, with primary emphasis on Europe and the United States. Pre-requisite: (English and Reading assessment exam scores above the developmental placement level or the successful completion of prescribed developmental course(s)) or Consent of Instructor. (This course fulfills General Education requirements for Humanities.)

ART 210 Drawing II (3 hrs. Lecture/Lab)

ART 210 is an advanced studio investigation of drawing techniques and concepts. Projects in line, value, composition and space will be investigated through individual development of style and expression, with extensive use of figure models. Pre-requisite: ART 110
