BCTC honors outstanding students and graduates

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) celebrated over 100 students last night during the Graduate Achievement Recognition (GAR) ceremony at the Leestown Campus in Lexington. Students from all programs and campuses of the college were recognized for their achievement and for exemplifying dedication, leadership and success, both in the classroom and beyond.
"I am so proud of these outstanding students," said Dr. Koffi Akakpo, Bluegrass Community and Technical College president. "We know as they graduate and go on to further education or their careers, they will be instrumental in creating Better Lives in our communities."
Students named Kentucky Community and Technical College (KCTCS) All-Academic Team members for their scholarly achievements were Marc Blunk, pre-baccalaureate graduate and Kameswari Sridhara, technical graduate. These students are among Kentucky's top community and technical college students. Two from each of the 16 KCTCS colleges were chosen based on a rigorous selection process that focuses on academic performance and community service.

BCTC commencement will be held May 12 at 4 p.m. at the EKU Alumni Coliseum, 641 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY. Susan Elkington, president, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky will be the commencement speaker.
