LEXINGTON, KY — The Kiwanis Club of Georgetown continued its support of Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) with a $1,000 donation to BCTC for programs at the Georgetown-Scott County Campus.
Kiwanis President Marvin Thompson and Vice President Bill Parker, along with other members, presented the donation to Dr. Greg Feeney, BCTC vice president of Academics and Workforce Development, and Lynn Godsey, director of the Georgetown-Scott County Campus.
“We are grateful for your ongoing investment in our students,” said Dr. Feeney. “The Kiwanis gift is a wonderful example of how a community can positively impact the lives of students.”
Kiwanis members support the campus’ enrollment growth and new initiatives, including new dual credit opportunities for Scott County high school students. With this donation, the Kiwanis Club of Georgetown has given a total of $9,000 since 2012 to support programs at the Georgetown-Scott County Campus.
“It’s exciting to see the campus serving more students in our community, positioning them for good jobs and a bright future,” said President Thompson.
Kiwanis Club of Georgetown is part of Kiwanis International, a global volunteer organization dedicated to serving the children of the world. The major fundraising event sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Georgetown is the Scott County Fair, a family-oriented event with a wide variety of attractions, activities and entertainment.
