BCTC fall 2010 semester opens with record enrollment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 18, 2010) Preliminary numbers indicated double-digit enrollment growth at Bluegrass Community and Technical College when fall classes started Wednesday, Aug. 18. Approximately 12,400 students were enrolled, a growth of roughly 13 percent from the first day of classes last year.

Preliminary numbers also indicated BCTC regional campuses experienced record-breaking enrollment growth on Wednesday:

  • Lawrenceburg Campus grew to approximately 1,000 students, a growth of roughly 36 percent.
  • Winchester-Clark County Campus grew to nearly 900 students, a growth of about 30 percent.
  • Danville Campus grew to about 1,700 students, a growth of roughly 20 percent.

The college expects the enrollment to increase in the coming weeks as students finalize their class schedule and enroll for fall II semester classes, which start later in the semester. The official enrollment for Fall 2009 was 13,378 students.
