BCTC Surgical Technology Students Achieve 100% Pass Rate on National Exam
BCTC has received the annual merit award from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) after BCTC's Surgical Technology Class of 2015 achieved a 100% pass rate on the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) exam. Graduates obtaining national certification as a CST demonstrate, by examination, understanding of the basic competencies for safe patient care in the operating room.
This is the third consecutive year that BCTC's surgical technology graduates have achieved this recognition.
Im beyond proud of my graduates and the faculty that helped the students achieve the creditability of being a Nationally Certified Surgical Technologist. Not every surgical technologist can say they are a CST! said Kevin Craycraft, BCTC's Surgical Technology Program Coordinator. Craycraft has served as the program coordinator since 2002 and is also a graduate of the program.
