BCTC Workforce Solutions offers retirement planning class

Published on Feb 5, 2018

LEXINGTON, KY — Bluegrass Community & Technical College, in partnership with Legacy Wealth Management, is offering retirement planning workshops in February and March.

Adults, ages 50-70, will learn to assess their financial situation and develop a personalized plan to achieve retirement goals, including building a nest egg, protecting assets and planning for continuation of current lifestyle in retirement.

“In the class, I learned that most people spend a year planning for a vacation and no time planning for retirement,” said class attendee Laura Lynch. “For this reason, and the fact that I left there with a roadmap of how to plan for my retirement, I highly recommend it.”

The class meets twice, and course work covers advantages and disadvantages of saving methods, managing investment risk and protecting assets from long-term health care expenses. There are six hours of instruction, and course workbook is included in the $49 fee for an individual or couple.

The first session is Feb. 20 and 27 at the Newtown Campus in the Classroom Building room 301 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m. The second session takes place Mar. 1 and 8 at the Newtown Campus in the Classroom Building room 302 from 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.

Advance registration is required and may be completed through Workforce Solutions.

This class is open to the public.
