Bluegrass Community Technical College Commencement Exercises
LEXINGTON, KY (April 21, 2008) Bluegrass Community amp; Technical College (BCTC) will hold commencement exercises on Sunday, May 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Lexington Civic Center, 430 West Vine Street, Lexington. The ceremony will recognize more than 1700 students from the class of 2008. Dr. Augusta A. Julian, President and CEO of Bluegrass Community amp; Technical College (BCTC), will preside over the commencement of graduates from the six BCTC campuses.
Dr. Charles W. Byers, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus, University of Kentucky will be the commencement speaker. Dr Byers received his Ph.D. from Ohio State University before working 37 years at the University of Kentucky (UK). He retired from UK in 2004. His distinguished career in education includes serving as the Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction for the Kentucky Dept of Education, Office of Adult, Technical Education and Vocational Rehabilitation as well as a Commissioner in the Kentucky Workforce Development Cabinet.
BCTC serves 11,617 students at its six campuses in Lexington, Lawrenceburg, Danville and Winchester-Clark County. The college offers transferable associate degrees, diploma, and certificate training.
