Mary Jones elected President of KYDHA; 2nd year dental hygiene students win awards

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) would like to congratulate Mary Jones, second-year coordinator of the Dental Hygiene Program, for her election to President of the Kentucky Dental Hygienists’ Association (KyDHA) for the 2017-18 term. Her election was announced at the KyDHA annual convention last week. Jones is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) and holds a master’s degree in Public Health (MPH).

Also at the convention, BCTC second-year students were awarded first and second place for their research projects.

Aubrey Cage, Tristan Ventimiglia and Cindy Barratt placed first for their project on “Glycine Subgingival Air Polishing.”

Casey Howard, Kristin Smith, and Rebecca Hummel placed second on their project “Operatory Noise Induced Hearing Loss.”
