Middle and high school students to compete at regional Science Olympiad

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 3, 2010) Middle and high school students will compete in the 2010 Lexington Regional Science Olympiad being held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at the Cooper Campus of Bluegrass Community and Technical College, 470 Cooper Drive, Lexington.

A ceremony for individual and team awards will be held 3:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend the all-day event.

Students will compete in several areas, including astronomy, biology, chemistry, engineering, earth sciences, physics and math.

Regional student winners will advance to the State Science Olympiad being held April 26 at Western Kentucky University. State winners will advance to the National Tournament being held May 30-31 at George Washington University in Washington D.C.
