NARA Faculty and Students to Speak at Keeneland Event

This Saturday at Keenelands Sunrise Trackside, kids will have the opportunity to see what its like to ride a race horse and to meet the faculty of the North American Racing Academy (NARA), including Hall of Fame jockey Chris McCarron, NARAs lead riding instructor.

The NARA team will talk about the career and training opportunities available to young men and women interested in the horse racing and breeding industries. Based at Bluegrass Community and Technical College, NARA now also offers classes to Fayette and Woodford County high school juniors and seniors through dual credit courses taught at Locust Trace AgriScience Farm.

A NARA Equicizer, which simulates riding a racehorse, will also be on hand so a few lucky kids can try their hand at race riding. The fun starts at 7:00 a.m. and runs until 8:30 a.m. trackside at Keenelands Equestrian Dining Room. Cost for breakfast is $7 and kids under age three eat for free.
