Newtown Classroom Building Recognized for Energy Efficiency
BCTC's Newtown Classroom Building has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy as part of the Better Buildings Challenge. The building, which opened to students for the fall 2013 semester, features high efficiency chillers, lights and fans, as well as a reflective roof, to cut energy use and energy costs. KCTCS is pursuing LEED certification for the building at the Gold level.
