Scholarships Applications Now Being Accepted for New Human Services Program

LEXINGTON, KY (January 9, 2007) Bluegrass Community amp; Technical College (BCTC) is partnering with the Kentucky Cabinet for Health amp; Family Services (CHFS), and the University Training Consortium to increase the number of trained and qualified human services professionals in the region. They plan to meet this need through the Family Support Education Program (FSEP) by providing full scholarships to students who are seeking an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Human Services in return for a 2-year employment obligation within the Southern Bluegrass Region of the Department for Community Based Services.

The BCTC Human Services Degree prepares students for entry-level positions in agencies that provide social, community, educational, and mental health services. Students accepted to the program will receive full paid in state tuition from CHFS and a stipend to assist in textbook purchases, living expenses and fees.
