The fourth annual BCTC Hour of Code will be held December 11-13 at Newtown Campus

Who

Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC), is hosting the fourth annual BCTC Hour of Code on December 11-13. The event will coincide with national Computer Science Week.

BCTC Hour of Code
This event hosts hundreds of K-12 central Kentucky students at the Newtown BCTC campus to take part in an international initiative, http://code.org’s Hour of Code. Two types of workshops will be offered to students – traditional hour of code games for new students and breakout games for those who have participated before. This initiative increases diversity in computer science by reaching students of all backgrounds where they are, at their skill-level, in ways that inspire them to keep learning. This year, BCTC expects around 400 students from Scott County H.S., Bryan Station, Frederick Douglass, Providence Montessori and BCTC Adult Education to attend.

When

9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., daily.

Where

BCTC’s Classroom Building, Newtown Campus, 500 Newtown Pike, Lexington, KY 40508.
