Business Administration is an associate degree program at Bluegrass Community and Technical College that prepares students for a variety of careers in business. A core curriculum provides students with a foundation of knowledge applicable to any business career. The Business Administration Program at BCTC offers Associate in Applied Science degrees in Business Management, Marketing and Retailing, Human Resource Management, Real Estate Management, Hospitality Management and Equine Business Management. Certificates are also offered in Entrepreneurship, Operations Management, Real Estate Pre-Licensing, Real Estate Pre-Brokerage Management Supervisory Management, and Team Leadership.
Certificates are also offered for several career-oriented options. Certificates available at BCTC include Pre-Licensing for Real Estate, Real Estate Pre-Brokerage Management, Entrepreneurship, Hospitality Management, Operations Management, Supervisory Management and Team Leadership.
The curriculum is designed for those who seek entry level jobs as well as for currently employed individuals wishing to enhance their skills.
The Business Management Track leads to careers for planning and managing people and other resources within organizations.
The Marketing and Retailing Track prepares for careers in sales, merchandise management, buying, department supervising, or retail management.
The Human Resource Management Track prepares students for entry-level positions in the human resource field and related occupations.
The Hospitality Management Track prepares students for careers directing specific aspects of hospitality operations and for overall hospitality management.
The Equine Business Management Track provides the knowledge and skills students need to take advantage of various employment opportunities within the horse industry.
The Real Estate Management Track leads to a career in real estate which may include sales, finance, counseling, development, market analysis, valuation, and/or property management.
Kentucky Real Estate license requirements can be fulfilled by taking two (2) 3 credit hour courses in real estate and sitting for the licensure exam. Students can accomplish this in one semester by taking Real Estate Principles (RE100) and one of the following courses concurrently.
The Supply Chain Management AAS degree incorporates knowledge of the field of logistics, supply chain management, quality management, lean concepts and application, business and operations management, critical communication skills, and digital literacy required for successful employment in the logistics industry. The program will prepare students to perform functions in the modern logistics and supply chain manage¬ment environment as well as give the preparation to obtain two national industry credentials (CLA and CLT) as a result.
