How to Register
The first step is to apply to the College. This can be done online at BCTC admissions
or come to the One Stop Student Service Center located in Building C, Room 170 at
the Leestown Campus , Records Office at the Cooper Campus or to the front desk at
the Danville, Lawrenceburg, Winchester Campuses to register for the course. After
applying, students will receive a letter stating that your application has been processed,
return to the One Stop Center or admissions where you will be registered for the class.
Students MUST register for the course prior to the start date of the section they
wish to complete.
After registering students will be directed to pay their fees at the BCTC Business
Office.

Requirements
Students may purchase books and name tag from the Leestown Campus bookstore. The program approved nurse aide textbook with the workbook is required and these are sold as a package in the bookstore.
The course is web-enhanced through Blackboard. A student must access Blackboard to view posted assignments, exam scores and announcements. High speed internet is required to access Blackboard.
Students must set up their College email accounts in order to have access to Blackboard. Students who need assistance in setting up email or accessing Blackboard may go to a campus library or open computer lab for assistance.
Required Background Check
The background check must be completed prior the first day of the clinical. The student is responsible for any fees associated with obtaining the background check. The clinical facility has the right to deny student clinical placement based on the results of their background check. Students not allowed to attend clinical cannot meet the requirements of the program.
The following background check histories will disqualify an individual from participation in clinical rotations:
- Felony convictions.
- Misdemeanor convictions or felony deferred adjudications involving crimes against persons (physical assault or sexual abuse, etc).
- Misdemeanor convictions related to moral turpitude (prostitution, public lewdness/exposure, etc).
- Felony deferred adjudications for the sale, possession, distribution, or transfer of narcotics or controlled substances.
- Registered sex offenders.
- All others the facility deems deniable.
Please Note the Following
The NAA 100 follows the college Academic Policy for NO Shows and 50% tuition reimbursement. A student may withdraw from the course at any time prior to administration of the final comprehensive exam. Students cannot withdraw after the final comprehensive exam has been administered to the class. Students who do not have a final minimum score of a 70% will receive a failing grade of an E. To withdraw a student must bring a withdrawal form to the class instructor to sign. A student who withdraws any time before the final exam will receive a W on the college transcript. A grade of a W will not impact a student s overall GPA (grade point average). The instructor will not approve a grade of a W if the final comprehensive exam has been taken. Students who do not show up for class and do not withdraw will receive a failing grade of an E for the class. For more information, view the Withdraw Policy.
