Nurse Aide Testing
Important Information:
KCTCS has an important message regarding the KY.GOV online payment processing system used when scheduling a Nurse Aide State Exam online. Beginning August 1, 2022, all credit card payments will be processed immediately at the time of scheduling a state exam. There will no longer be a delay in payment processing of 5 days prior to the scheduled exam date.
Please contact us at nurseaidetesting@kctcs.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
You must be in good financial standing with KCTCS in order to sit for the state exam, as per state study guide guidelines.
State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA) - Testing
After successful completion of the Nursing Assistant Course from either Bluegrass Community and Technical College or another training facility you may schedule to take the State Competency Evaluation.
The State test consists of two parts: a written portion and a skills portion. You may take the test up to three times within one year of your training (class) completion date. If you do not pass it after the third time, you will have to retake a nursing assistant course. If you allow the completion date to be over the year before passing the test, you will also have to retake a nursing assistant course.
How Do I Schedule a Test?
- A Kentucky Medicaid Nurse Aide Test Roster must be completed by the training facility and faxed to our secured fax line: (859) 246-6688
- Nurse Aide Competency Specialist will contact you to schedule a test date.
Nurse Aide Faculty are required to be in testing, so questions or inquiries may be sent to bl-nurseaidetesting@kctcs.edu or you may call (859) 246-6723. Otherwise, please check the frequently asked questions to see if your question is answered.
