Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) will partner with Newton’s Attic to offer STEM day camps for elementary and middle school students at the Georgetown-Scott County Campus in June and July.
BCTC and Newton’s Attic share a commitment to providing Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education to students of all ages.
“We think the beautiful, high tech facility of BCTC Georgetown is the perfect setting for Newton’s Attic’s programs, and it’s so exciting to see such an amazing resource for this community,” says Newton’s Attic founder, Bill Cloyd. “We are excited that more Georgetown families will get to participate in their own community.”
Full and half-day week-long camps for grades 3 – 5 and 6 – 9 will be offered June 10-14, July 15-19 and July 29 – Aug. 2. Offerings include Camp Catapult, Lego Robotics, Nerf Gun Mods, Minecraft Mod with Java, Kerbal Space Program and Rube Goldberg Machines.
Newton’s Attic is also offering multiple summer camp opportunities in Lexington as well.
Registration is open and can be completed online on the Newtown’s Attic website at newtonsattic.org. Camp cost ranges from $195 – $500 per week. Early registration is recommended because space is limited. Participants are encouraged to join the waitlist if a class is full.
