Please note: due to the recent Corona virus outbreak, all events have been postponed or canceled through April 1st until further notice.

The Bluegrass Community & Technical College (BCTC) Dental Hygiene Program students and professionals will be offering free dental care to children during the Give Kids A Smile event Mar. 30, 31 and Apr. 1, at the Cooper Campus in the Oswald Building.

Children ages 4-12 are eligible to receive FREE dental cleanings, kindergarten screenings, dental supplies, x-rays, exams, and fluoride treatments. Participants will also enjoy face painting, balloons, and visits by the tooth fairy.

BCTC's Cooper Campus is located at 470 Cooper Drive, Lexington. Parking in the BCTC lot is free for the event with a pass to accompany your appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 859.246.6857. Appointments fill quickly, so call today to reserve your spot.

"This event is spearheaded by the Student American Dental Hygienists' Association. Our students work hard to solicit donations and decorate the clinic especially for children," said Janella Spencer, professor of dental hygiene. "It is always a fun time for the students and children alike."

Other sponsors of the event include Henry Schein Dental, Semper Fi Home Inspections and GlaxoSmithKLine (GSK).

The Dental Hygiene program at BCTC has been treating children in the community for 40 years. To learn more about studying dental hygiene at BCTC, contact janella.spencer@kctcs.edu or call 859.246.6234.
