BCTC Acquires 1919 Rolling Hills Lane Building in Winchester/Clark County

1919 Rolling Hill Lane building with BCTC Leadership and staff at entranceWinchester, KY – The Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) in Winchester, KY, has made a significant move by acquiring the former Amazon Call Center at 1919 Rolling Hills Lane. This acquisition will expand educational programs and services tailored to the Winchester/Clark Co. community.

The 80,405 square foot facility, strategically located in the Winchester Industrial Park adjacent to BCTC's existing campus, promises enhanced opportunities for customized training and career advancement. Dr. Greg Feeney, President/CEO of BCTC, highlighted the importance of this acquisition in offering education and training that meet local workforce needs. Areas identified as priorities through community needs assessment include Nursing Expansion, Welding, Industrial Maintenance and Electricity, Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Computer-based Training, and optional Community Spaces.

"BCTC is committed to leveraging community feedback to shape their educational offerings and support services," said Feeney. "By analyzing the data gathered through community needs assessments, we aim to ensure that our expansion efforts align closely with the priorities and requirements of local students and businesses alike. This approach not only enhances educational opportunities but also strengthens BCTC's role in advancing workforce development and fostering economic growth in the Winchester/Clark Co. area."

Dr. Erin Tipton, Vice President for Workforce and Economic Development, expressed enthusiasm about the leadership of Renee McFall, Winchester/Clark Co. Campus Director and the potential to expand the campus's impact on workforce development. The acquisition also opens avenues for naming opportunities within the facility, inviting donations to support equipment, programs, and student scholarships. "We know that working with business and industry partners can transform lives and we are committed to student success and fueling workforce development," said Tipton.
