BCTC appoints new Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development

Lexington, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) appointed Dr. Erin Tipton as the new Vice President of Advancement and Workforce Development effective November 2024.
Dr. Tipton has held numerous leadership positions at both BCTC and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS). She served as the Associate Vice President for Workforce Solutions at BCTC and as the Director of Technical Programs at KCTCS, where she worked across the 16 colleges within the system. Additionally, Dr. Tipton was the Campus Director of BCTC’s Danville Campus for 10 years.
Her prior leadership positions at the college include Associate Dean for Student Outreach Services and Interim Vice-President of Student Retention and Success. Erin has 8 years of leadership experience in Human Resource Development from the University of Kentucky’s where she led recruitment and hiring. She holds a bachelor's degree in general studies in Business from Western Kentucky University, a master's degree in Career and Technical Education and a Doctoral Degree in Educational Policies and Evaluation from the University of Kentucky.

It is essential for us to have a strong presence across the Commonwealth, and I am eager to apply my leadership to help position BCTC’s students and community partners for success, ultimately contributing to a stronger Kentucky," Tipton added.
