BCTC 85th Anniversary LogoLexington, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is proud to host its 85th Legacy Gala on Thursday, May 29, at the Newtown Campus. This special event will honor BCTC’s enduring "Legacy of Learning" and its remarkable journey from serving just 20 students its first year to now impacting the lives of more than 18,000 students this past year.

The gala will honor BCTC’s evolution over the years and the many people who have played a role in its journey. It’s a moment to reflect on the college’s growth, the lives it has touched, and its strong, lasting bond with the community.

Founded in 1939, BCTC has remained committed to offering accessible, high-quality education and workforce training to students from all backgrounds. With a focus on innovation, expanded programs, and a nurturing learning environment, the college consistently adapts to meet the needs of a thriving and evolving region.

"This anniversary is more than a celebration of our history; it’s a tribute to the countless lives we’ve impacted and the vibrant community we've created together," said Dr. Greg Feeney, BCTC President/CEO. “We are incredibly proud of our progress and deeply grateful to our students, alumni, faculty, staff, and community partners. Together, we’ve created a legacy that empowers learning, promotes growth, and strengthens our region.”

The Legacy Gala will serve as the capstone to a year-long series of celebratory events. Held in a summer garden setting, the evening will kick off with a networking hour at 5:30 p.m., followed by dinner and the program.
