250Lex Entrepreneurial Showdown logoLexington, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is excited to announce its participation in the 250Lex Entrepreneurial Showdown, which will take place on April 16, 2025, at the Transylvania University Campus Center from 4-7:30 p.m. The event is presented by 250Lex and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky and will feature entrepreneurial teams from the University of Kentucky (UK), Fayette County Public Schools, BCTC, and Transylvania University.

The Entrepreneurial Showdown is a dynamic event where emerging innovators pitch their startup ideas to a panel of local judges for the chance to win cash prizes, made possible by a sponsorship from Toyota. This competition offers students the opportunity to gain valuable exposure for their ventures and receive funding to help turn their ideas into reality.

BCTC will be represented by a team of three students: Tucker Brewer, Sara Toori, and Luke Harding. The team will go head-to-head with students from UK, Transylvania University, and Fayette County Public Schools for a chance to win prize money to help fund their startup endeavors.

"Participating in the 250Lex Entrepreneurial Showdown is an exciting opportunity for our students to showcase their innovative ideas and compete in a collaborative, high-energy environment,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, President and CEO of BCTC. “We’re thrilled to build on the momentum from our successful participation in the recent College Town Showcase and further demonstrate the entrepreneurial spirit that thrives at BCTC. We are proud of our team and look forward to supporting their efforts in this prestigious event.”

The event promises to be an exciting display of innovation and creativity, with local leaders judging the pitches. Among the panel of judges are Fayette County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Demetrus Liggins, Toyota Vice President of Administration Sandy Nott, Kentucky Sports Radio’s Andrew Jefferson, and UK graduate and 2024 ABC "Shark Tank" contestant Destin George Bell. The event will be emceed by Awesome Inc.
