Bluegrass Community and Technical College Celebrates Phi Theta Kappa Catalyst Conference Success

BCTC PTK group photoLexington, KY — Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Alpha Phi Kappa Chapter following the 2026 PTK Catalyst Conference. The chapter earned top regional and international honors, showcasing the exceptional leadership, scholarship, and service of BCTC students.

Among the most prestigious recognitions, the Alpha Phi Kappa Chapter was named one of the Top 100 Chapters Internationally, ranking among more than 1,300 chapters worldwide. The chapter was also honored as the #1 Chapter in the Kentucky Region and received the Most Distinguished Chapter Award for 2026.

“This remarkable achievement reflects the dedication, resilience, and leadership of our students,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, President and CEO of BCTC. “We are incredibly proud of the Alpha Phi Kappa Chapter for representing BCTC at the highest level. Their success at the Catalyst Conference demonstrates the transformative power of student engagement and leadership development. These students are not only excelling academically, but they are also setting the standard for service and impact in our communities.”

The chapter’s accomplishments span multiple categories at both the regional and international levels, including:

  • Distinguished Chapter Officer Team (International Award) recognizing exceptional student leadership and collaboration
  • College Project Award – Winner (Kentucky Region)
  • Honors in Action Project Award – First Place (Kentucky Region)
  • Distinguished Theme Award (Theme 6: Stories of Persistence, Resilience, Healing and Sorrow)

Individual honors further highlight the strength of BCTC’s PTK program:

  • Kimberly Ross-Brown, PTK Advisor, was named a Distinguished Advisor (International) one of only 15 selected from 847 applicants — and received the Most Distinguished Advisor Award (Kentucky Region) as well as the Horizon Award
  • Jennifer Ward earned recognition as a member of the Coca-Cola Academic Team and was named Most Distinguished Chapter Officer (Kentucky Region)
  • Devin Zimmer received First Place, Most Distinguished Chapter Officer (Kentucky Region)

In addition, Ross-Brown has been appointed to several influential leadership roles, including Kentucky Region Alumni Advisor and member of both the PTK International Doctoral Studies and Transfer Studies Scholarship Focus Groups.

Reflecting on the achievement, Kimberly Ross-Brown shared, “My heart is truly full. Thank you so much for the opportunity to serve our students; I am deeply grateful for your constant assistance and support in making this work possible.”

The PTK Catalyst Conference is the organization’s premier annual event, bringing together high-achieving students from across the globe to celebrate academic excellence, leadership, and service.
