Bluegrass Community and Technical College Earns Three Best of Lexington Honors, Including Two Gold Awards

Lexington, KY – Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) has earned three honors in the 2026 Best of Lexington contest, including two Gold awards recognizing the college’s career-focused education and equine programming.

BCTC received:

• Gold – Best Trade/Technical School
• Gold – Best Equestrian Riding School
• Silver – Best College/University

The awards reflect the community’s recognition of BCTC’s diverse educational opportunities, from transfer pathways and technical programs to hands-on learning experiences that prepare students for Kentucky’s workforce.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognized by the community we serve,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, Chancellor of BCTC. “These awards represent the dedication of our faculty and staff, the strength of our academic and workforce programs, and, most importantly, the accomplishments of our students. Whether students seek a career, a credential, or a pathway to a bachelor’s degree, BCTC empowers them with an exceptional education that creates opportunity, transforms lives, and strengthens our communities.

BCTC’s Gold award for Best Trade/Technical School highlights the college’s role in preparing students for high-demand careers throughout Central Kentucky. BCTC offers career and technical education across a wide range of fields, combining classroom instruction with hands-on learning designed to help graduates enter the workforce with relevant, in-demand skills.

The college was also named Gold Best Equestrian Riding School, in recognition of BCTC’s Equine Studies program and its connection to one of Kentucky’s signature industries. Students have opportunities to develop practical skills and industry knowledge while learning in the heart of the Bluegrass region.

BCTC’s Silver award for Best College/University recognizes the college’s broader commitment to accessible, affordable higher education. Through multiple campuses, flexible learning options, transfer programs, workforce credentials and student support services, BCTC serves students at every stage of their educational and career journeys.

“Being recognized in three distinct categories speaks to the range of opportunities available at BCTC,” Feeney said. “We are proud to be a college where students can discover their path, build skills, earn credentials and create a future right here in the Bluegrass.”
