BCTC Launches Annual "Share the Love" Campus Campaign to Support Students and Address Food Insecurity
Published on Feb 12, 2026
LEXINGTON, KY — Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is celebrating its annual Share the Love Campus campaign throughout the entire month of February, uniting new student recruitment, community
partnership, and student support efforts to strengthen student success across the
College.
The trifecta campaign encourages prospective students to apply for Fall 2026 semester enrollment at BCTC while directly supporting currently enrolled students through the HEART of BCTC Food Pantry. For every application submitted during February, BCTC’s community partner, Members Heritage Credit Union, will donate $1 to the HEART Food Pantry. In addition, each applicant will be entered into a drawing to receive a free laptop once enrolled for the Fall semester.
“Share the Love Campaign reflects what makes BCTC and our community partnerships so impactful,” said Dr. Greg Feeney, President and CEO of BCTC. “This campaign not only encourages students to take the first step toward higher education, but it also ensures that our current students have access to essential resources that support their well-being. Our partnership with Members Heritage Credit Union exemplifies how collaboration creates meaningful, lasting outcomes for students and the community we serve.”
The campaign builds on the success of Harvest for the HEART, a spring semester initiative also sponsored by Members Heritage Credit Union. During a two-week period in November, BCTC received more than 1,500 applications, while generating significant support for the Food Pantry.
The HEART of BCTC Food Pantry continues to play a critical role in addressing food insecurity on campus. During the current academic year, the pantry has recorded 742 visits from 227 unique students, underscoring the ongoing need for community support.
“The generosity of our community partners has had a tremendous impact on our students,” said Kauai Thurman, Associate Dean of Student Success Services at BCTC. “Donations to the HEART Food Pantry help ensure that students don’t have to choose between basic necessities and their education. When students’ essential needs are met, they are better positioned to persist, succeed, and thrive in the classroom.”
Members Heritage Credit Union has been a long-standing partner in BCTC’s efforts to support student success beyond the classroom.
“This campaign is a wonderful opportunity to collaborate with BCTC in support of the College’s mission,” said Tammy Jackson, Director of Marketing at Members Heritage Credit Union. “By investing in the HEART Food Pantry, we are helping students overcome food insecurity so they can focus on learning, achieving their goals, and building a stronger future for themselves and our community.”
The Share the Love Campus campaign highlights the collective impact of new student applicants, community partnership, and student support services, reinforcing BCTC’s commitment to access, affordability, and student success.
